Gerald Rudolph Ford, the 38th President of the United States, was born Leslie Lynch King, Jr., the son of Leslie Lynch King and Dorothy Ayer Gardner King, on July 14, 1913, in Omaha, Nebraska. His parents separated two weeks after his birth, and his mother took him to Grand Rapids, Michigan, to live with her parents. Robert M. Teeter was born on February 5, 1939 in Coldwater, Michigan. He received a B.A. from Albion College in 1961, and an M.A. from Michigan State University in 1964. He was a Graduate Assistant at Albion College from 1961 to 1964, and an instructor at Albion College from 1964 to 1966.
